Like, seriously, where would he play? I don't think he'd start over Catchings, Saunders, or Demin. He'd be nice off the bench, but it probably would have meant we wouldn't have signed Bosko ... and I think he may be the Big12 6th man of the year. So I don't feel badly that he picked Kentucky.
Chandler's a great player, but we don't need to be heartbroken he didn't come. He wanted something different than BYU. Good, I hope he's successful. He's still a great member of our church who represented well on his mission. Pope too represents the Church well. Good luck to both of them.
As far as worrying about whether we may need a Pope recruit in the future ... man, life's too short for that kind of anxiety. Should we hope Reid fails at Kansas City so maybe he would come coach for us? Bevell too? Should we hope every LDS person not at BYU should fail? Are we Roger Reid-level petty now? No!
I really don't think it affects us hardly at all to wish well to Pope and Collin, so I do wish them well.
