frustrating that the size of BYU's fanbase and reach could never give us the on-court advantages we should have always had. Maybe NIL has actually leveled the playing field in some ways? Too early to tell maybe. But I'm certainly not a fan of "pay to play" turning college into a pro league. That doesn't compute. It's either a university team or a pro team, have to pick one. If it's a pro team, then it makes no sense for the team to be associated with the university and have the players go to class or work towards a degree or what have you. And if that's gone, it's just a G-league equivalent. It's a giant murky cloud of confusion right now.
As for me, I watch college sports precisely because they are student-athletes representing their school. It's different than the pros. As that line blurs, I'm not sure how interested I'll be. Where will the college level student-athletes be playing? How to find them?
