schools when they deserved to be in amongst the best. NIL has allowed BYU to now leverage one of their biggest strengths (a huge fan base with huge capacity for support) to be able to acquire and compete against all other universities. I leave the reasons off since most already know them, but our teams have been discounted and maligned for decades when in truth had they been treated fairly, we may have been among the Ohio States, Alabamas, and Dukes years ago. NIL is allowing BYU to compete at that level. Whether we get to that level quickly or if it takes decades remains to be seen. But take heart, we will get there now. All the under the table $$ and blocking by conferences and schools can’t stop us now.
