I had never considered fanbase impacts on the line.
It makes sense though. If I ever were to make a bet I would certainly be more likely to bet in favor of BYU, just like if I were a fan of Arizona I would likely bet on them.
Since so few BYU fans bet, you could potentially see the lines always being slightly more in favor of BYU’s opponent. I’d be curious to see what percent of money is placed by fans vs unaffiliated bettors.
