The difference is incredible.
1. They announced 40,000 fans in a stadium that holds 45,000. I sat on the 12th row up on the 50 yard line. I could have had my choice of any of 50 or more seats. 2 rows down had almost no one. They couldn't fill their student section and by the 4th quarter over a fourth had left.
2. I did like how the students came onto the field and ran for their seats. Great idea.
3. Very little of the BYU pageantry. (4th quarter fire dancers).
4. They flashed make noise on the screens but no one did. (Almost no home field noise advantage.) You could hear the 2 different BYU sections loudly cheer in unison. (maybe 20 to 25 per cent of the crowd in blue)
5. I loved that they started the game with a prayer.
6. I talked to a Baylor fan at the hotel from California. His son plays on the team. Very nice man.
7. I drove to Austin to make Saturday Austin - SLC flight. Lots of BYU shirts on the flight.
