But everything from the initial evaluation was that he was going to be just fine. So I don’t think there was concern for any type of tendon injury. But it sounds like when he was trying to grip the ball he just couldn’t get a good grip on it and just didn’t have strength in that finger. To me, that seems to indicate it is still having some residual swelling/nerve damage. Obviously, you would hope that something like that would just continue to improve.
The guy wants to play. He just unfortunately has injuries that don’t allow it. And the fact that he gets blamed for that whole fiasco with the knee is ridiculous. No one ever should have given the expectation of him returning in seven months. I still get mad thinking about that. It was mishandled so poorly.
