Now we have Liberty Mutual, and they didn't care at all about the permit. They said we don't need to notify them until they get their license.

I think it depends on the state. In Idaho you can’t insure someone on a learners

Since you are in the car with them when they drive, kids with learner permits are covered by your policy.

Depending on where you live, but you legally can't add a permitted child in Utah. You must add them if they are licensed
