If I have an auto policy and my 16 year old and 19 year old sons decide they don't want to drive, but already have a learner's permit, do I have to add them to the policy? Allstate is saying that I cannot create a policy unless they are included, even though they will not be driving any of our cars, because they live at our same address and have a license.
BTW I got a quote from Geico and it was 40% cheaper than Allstate and Progressive. Just sayin'.
This is a theoretical, btw. I plan on getting insurance for both my kids whether they drive or not. I just felt like Allstate was being crazy and wanted other opinions on what is actually required by law and most insurance companies in this situation.
