Outkicking — as kicker or unit — is a person’s mistake by being too aggressive, strong, overzealous — not so much a matter of being out of your depth — but leaning too far forward in your skis so that your risk crashing ugly. Not about inability per se. Even a great skier (or manager) can get out over their skis too much. It’s not what you say when someone just has no business being a manager or is incompetent.
You’re supposed to kick in ahead of coverage. Supposed to me that over your skis — but going too far is the problem.
