Follow up question is there is no way to clear a clog besides exposing it and maybe sticking a knife in every so often?
Then open up the part where water is no longer coming out of the punctures I make?

Not sure. Seems like you could run a sewer snake down it, just be a little

Most french drains use the black pipe. Its also porous so it can collect water

I cleared mine with a pressure washer and a sewer jet nozzle.

I use the sturdier perforated triple wall drainage pipe that holds better than the black flexi ones.
