He's not playing center field, he was running a route and doing what he was supposed to do. He was expecting that ball to go to the wide open area that he had expertly created. You keep acting like it's the easiest thing in the world to stop all of your momentum when your mind and body are expecting that the ball might land somewhere in the vicinity of the 1350 sqft of open land. It's not, and it takes a second to process that the ball isn't going where it's supposed to be going.
And sorry, but Jake was able to release that ball untouched and was barely tapped by the defender afterwards. Jake's got issues if that's what caused his very inaccurate throw.
Again, if you want to assign 5% blame to Kody for not managing to rip the ball away from a defender that had the ball thrown right at him, fine. Assign that 5%. The other 95% goes to Jake.
