I feel lucky to be in a corner of my field that most people with my same
certification don't enjoy/feel comfortable in. That's allowed me to spend nearly all my time in this one relatively small/niche area and become somewhat of a specialist. If I was a generalist in my field (like most in my workplace are), I would probably resonate quite a bit with what Tcuz says here, haha (and I have felt this way in most of my jobs in the past).

Doing something that I'm passionate about and see an enormous need for has brought out intrinsic motivation in me that I never knew was there. Although the pay could be a bit better, I have great benefits, work/life balance, and lots of time off. A huge component here as well is that see significant, and sometimes even immediate, gains in my clients' quality of life as we work together. It's been humbling to see all of this unfold for me, as I had never experienced any true fulfillment in the workplace until this situation worked out the way it has recently.
