Everything that they accomplish or fail at has to be compared to BYU. I’ve known countless friends, relatives, teachers & ward members who attended USU. Other than the few that are BYU sports fans (despite attending USU), the majority never resist the opportunity to take pot shots or make digs about BYU. They crow about absolutely anything that they perceive to be better, and they blame their straw man BYU villain for a lot of their athletic and institutional failings. I’ve heard USU-loving religious leaders, school and Seminary teachers, ward members, etc. spew the same tired anti-BYU drivel.
