The one I use can be used while charging, so I don't see any reason to have a corded mouse, except when I'm having
computer problems or bluetooth problems.
Example: One time when I was troubleshooting up a computer, I accidently (stupidly) deleted all Bluetooth connections, which left me with no keyboard and no mouse.
