do was go to BYU for the summer term. I was done with HS. Best decision, I chilled at home that night and just watched sports. All my friends spent a ton of money on stuff and I didn’t have to. The group I would have gone with went to another state to a parent’s lake house and some parents supplied the booze for the after prom party. I was done with that scene (I never drank but decided it wasn’t worth it to even go anymore).

I was never really a fan of dances. I asked girls to Homecoming and got asked to go to Spring. But I remember the first homecoming I went to, I forked over the money for tickets and the photos and the dinner and all that. We get into the dance and about 10 mins later our dates come to the guys and say “okay we’re good let’s go to the after party.”

So we left and went to a party at one of our friend’s homes. I remember thinking “Wow what a waste of money.” I was a jr at the time so I did a couple more dances but decided Prom looked really dumb so I decided not to go. People told me I would regret it but I still haven’t.
