but not that many great chances. BYU doesn't really know what to do it with in the final third of the field. The first half UCLA dominated.
BYU battled well in the midfield. But at least for this season we just lack the magic skill or speed or athleticism up top to get it in the goal. Fryer seems to be the only one capable of that so far this season. She missed the last 25 minutes or so with a head injury. The ball was inadvertently kicked into her head. I hope she recovers well.
Of course BYU will improve, but if we don't have the dynamic speed or ball skill I'm not sure where the goals are going to come from.
Seems like we ought to have better corner kicks set up? If you're playing a team better than you, then set pieces are a great way to try to sneak a goal in and BYU sure wasn't dangerous on corners. Either couldn't kick it into the box or had no runners or tried some other creative pass around that only ended up in possession loss.
But UCLA is a top 5 team and BYU played them pretty competitively.
