For this foray, I opted for near max protection. Although purchased on Amazon, the jacket is pretty good.
Triple layer and breathable, $75 (WORTH.IT!). The elastic around the bottom sealed and let nothing in.
I also used a pair of the “keeper” goatskin gloves on Amazon that have the canvas up to the elbow, $15. Had a pair of the harbor freight Hardy pvc gloves on over those when working with the comb so I could stick them in the bucket of water to get the sticky off as I went along. Very impressed with the $15 gloves, higher quality than I would have expected. I think they’ll last a long time.
I wore boots and taped the bottom of the jeans legs around them to seal them off.
Her hat/veil only combo was not good, another cheap Amazon purchase. It’s going back. A strap broke inside of the first 1/2 hour or so. She had to wear a jacket over it keep them out.
