Parley 3rd String
Too much food and over eating..
For context I am a 52 year old who has run since I was 20. having completed 3 Marathons, 10+ Half Marathons... My regular routine is 4 miles every morning starting at 5:30 am. At certain times of the year there is a lot of good food around (Work events, holidays, etc.) me and too often I eat too much of the high fat and carbs. The morning after eating too much I am usually heavy, lethargic, and complete my 4 miles averaging 10.20 minutes per mile or I just walk all or part. On days when I am making healthy eating choices I can complete all 4 miles averaging 9.30. I am trying to prepare my mind for multiple days, if not many days of eating healthy and then see if I can get my splits to drop even more. For the past 10 years I have not managed to avoid the unhealthy eating pattern and quantity of food for a significant length of time. This is the goal I am working on. I feel so much better when I am eating healthy and running like I want to. I need to remember how good it feels to be healthy when the other options come around. Yes my cholesterol and LDL levels are elevated. My Dr. wants to meet with me and I have put off meeting with him to see if I can reach this goal and go in on a positive trend.
