While it's true that "people do dumb things when drunk," and they "make decisions they wouldn't do otherwise." Ask me. When I was 28, a drunk driver made a dumb decision to drive while drunk. He killed my wife and 18-month-old daughter.
Point is, drunk people don't make dumb decisions while driving because they aren't in control of their faculties — but when they are sober, they make the dumbest of decisions: They choose to drive while drunk.
