Lot’s of bees drinking from the pond this summer.
So I have a very small, maybe 1000 gallons, pond that I built 20+ years ago in the backyard. This year for some reason bees have been swarming it every day. I think the issue is the vacant house kitty-corner across the street. It has sat empty for the last year after he committed suicide inside.
He was getting ready to sell it after his wife passed away, and it was in escrow, but his death put everything on hold. The only heir is a nephew back east. He was out here for a little while while they had an estate sale and cleared most stuff out, but there is an old sofa-set left out in the backyard that I believe now houses a colony of bees. I think they’ve decided my pond is the best nearby water source.
