I don't think it's a bad thing to consider if you're trying to decide between
2 or 3 cars that you really like. If you're pretty 50/50 on what car to buy, it's reasonable that resale value could be a tiebreaker.
I do agree that it would be silly to have it be one of the primary factors considered though.
