That’s crazy to me. I had to look it up to make sure it’s true. I can understand the “compelling government interest” in

such a law, since you’re apparently a nation of infidels, and you want someone to raise those kids, but it seems like you’re just saying that you’ve decided to build, maintain, and secure your society on lies.

Hard to imagine living in a place where your freedom to know about your physical self is less important than the preservation of a potential lie.
