Layered clothing is the best option. Disposable $1 Walmart raincoats. Mosquito repellent.....I take repellent wipes.

A nice pair of binoculars. Lots of wildlife to spot from the ship.

I ended up renting a nice pair from the ship for $30ish. It was totally worth it.
