I ended up renting a nice pair from the ship for $30ish. It was totally worth it.

That's great you like them, but I prefer to go places cruises don't/can't go and plan my own itineraries and schedule.

Find the locally-owned shops. Cruise lines own most of the shops on the midways at the ports.
