Probably, but then my sister and all her adult kids would have learn what a VPN
is and how/when to use it. She is "happy" to pay the $5 a month for static public WAN IP address if that makes things work simply. It also has the advantage of not needing a DDNS service to update the public WAN IP if the ISP changes it.
