Interesting. I cruised once as a single guy and thought it was great. My wife
hasn't been interesting in going on a cruise, so we do her style of vacations (which also do not include camping).

What I liked: 1) The relaxation. You don't have to worry about food, activities, getting lost, missing anything.... You can just make your own schedule and have everything right there. 2) The food. There are all types of food to eat (and at any time). I'm a healthy guy and avoided overeating... which can be difficult for many. 3) Activities. Do as much or as little as you want. You have shows in the evening, the pool, sports, gym, dancing, waterslides, (not my thing, but gambling on some ships).... I also like that you have to change clothes to eat at the nicer places, so it breaks up your day. 4) Stop and a chance to get off the ship. Personally, if you want to visit cities, just do that as a vacation. No need to fight to get around with limited time. 5) Just being on the ocean feels unique and fun.

What I didn't like: 1) At 1am I was looking out over the ocean and felt a desire to climb the rail and jump into the ocean. Freaked me out, so I went directly to bed.

I have some pretty funny experiences because of that cruise... including being 15 seconds from missing the departure and flagging them down just in time to get on the boat. It wasn't my fault, but the women I was with.
