I think we need to be more thankful to Pope for challenging our department & administration's commitment
to REAL investment. And to challenging their limits.
Kalani had done this quite a bit as well.
Pope's relentless insistence & drive in getting BYU outside of itself — got BYU to invest full-in on KY — & to give him what it would not give to previous HCs (Pope just being the latest).

I think the spike in recruiting is more about funding, but KY is clearly no slouch as a first year HC.
