When I was a sophomore in high school we scrimmaged the state champion girls
team in Colorado. They only scored because we intentionally threw the ball to them. Way too much speed and size for the girls to keep up. A month later we played the women's team at Denver University and beat them about 80 to 25 - again, we could have shut them down even more, but it was embarrassing at some point. IMHO the state high (3A to 6A) school champions in Utah would beat the WNBA champions easily. They would totally dominate at the 4 and 5, scoring at will and blocking nearly every shot inside 10 feet. The 3 could get to the rim without resistance and would block most jump shots at the arc due to his length. The boys would dominate the glass on both ends and would get a record number of second chances. The only position where I can see the women possibly putting up resistance is at the 1 or 2 spots. Even then, the boys' length, strength and speed would be a huge problem. When I played in college, I faced a 5'8" guard in practice every day and I routinely blocked his outside shot, probably 50% of the time, do to my size (6' 4"). Of course, we will never see a game like this happen because I think the WNBA knows it would be a disaster - the illusion of the women getting on par with the men's game is really a bunch of baloney.
