If you really want it, I'd just call and say I'll take it for <price> and can pick it up <time>.  If they agree, done deal.  I get they don't want to hold it only to have someone back out and leave them sale-less.  But it doesn't sound like you would have recourse other than an electronic transaction to report as fraud if they ghosted you after the "sale".
