I see your point and mostly agree, but I wouldn’t claim it as dead. The reason
We lost so many players is more because of a coaching change. Also, we still have a lot of returning players, even despite this coaching change.
Will there be more turnover? Of course. But it’s not anywhere near dead. Will still have a lot of players stay in programs.
