There is a narrative by some on CB that BYU won't stoop to the level of paying millions for a player. It is not because we have the moral high ground. It is because we don't have the capacity. BYU is better off post NIL than pre NIL. We are a strong 2nd tier school that will develop talent for tier 1.
I feel that BYU has a chance to be tier 1 in basketball. The Big 12 is loosing its tier 1 status. I primarily played football. BYU and Big 12 need to put Basketball 1st. The B1G has cleverly moved its self to P2. Big 12 and ACC can not compete with the money difference. $10 million in NIL would make BYU 1st tier in basketball. $10 million in football would hardly move the needle.
