being "let down," and "let down" every single year at some point, except for fans of the national champs (although most of those years, even the NC looses a game somewhere, causing some angst). I, of course, can complain, get upset, and despair with the best of them during the season when BYU looses to a UMASS, or plays nearly even with Sam Houston, but it kind of gives at least some fandom reprieve, and improves the "fun factor" when you can at least bask in the unrealistic optimism for 60% of year before reality sets in!
