Kalani as a HC moving forward?
What evidence do you point to that makes you feel confident that Kalani is the coach that can lead us to a high level of success?
***How I define high level of success at BYU is a consistent top 30ish program. Top half of the P4. 10 year example span might be: 1x top 10 season (10+ wins), 2 top 25 seasons (8-9 wins), 4 unranked but solid teams (6-8 wins), 2 mediocre years (4-5 wins), and 1 awful season (4 wins or less).
Expectations higher than that are very delusional IMO.
In Kalani's 8 seasons (7 of which at the non-P5 level) we've seen 1 borderline top 10 team in 2020 (semi-discredited due to weak COVID schedule), 1 top 25 season in 2021, 2 unranked but solid seasons in 2016 and 2022, 3 mediocre seasons in 2018, 2019, and 2023, and 1 awful year in 2017. Judging off of my criteria, Kalani underperformed. This is concerning given these years were at a non P5 level.
