Both can be difference-makers when they're on. But neither are physical enough to build a team around — not on the court, anyways.
For the locker room, though — they're two guys you definitely want to build a team around. I can see why KY's valuing them as did Pope (& it wouldn't surprise me to know Tom, Santiago & the remaining assistants were behind promoting these two as offseason leaders).
Hopefully they can help bring our team back.
(Regarding Trev's shooting woes, I'm gonna assume there was an injury behind it; news of his ankle injury didn't surprise me.)
