really want to see the terms of that non-compete; he was setting up a competing business while still covered by the non-compete as evidenced by the fact that he hired people the day after the non-compete ended and "officially" started his new business on 1/15. "Official" here is a very important word, as he had hired someone weeks before and the competing business was almost certainly unofficially started during the term of the non-compete. I would be curious to see what he is allowed to do and not allowed to do. And if it is vague then there's a pretty good chance he could get sued and there's a fight over what was allowed and not allowed during that period.
