I'm already disenfranchised
Players are clearly out for #1 - themselves. They play for whoever pays them the most money. That's fine with me, but don't call that college football. Call that a professional league. Pay the players their market value. Disassociate with the university. Form a farm league for the pro-teams / build an alliance with the NFL. Enter into employment agreements and endorsement deals - players are legally of age at 18 and can enter into contracts. Call it a day and forget xfer portal rules, recruiting rules, grades, class attendance, student-athlete labels, etc.

I think the product will suffer. I don't watch minor league baseball. I watch / watched BYU sports because I went to school there, love the passion of the student willing to give of his / her time to play a sport, rep the university, abide by the honor code, study for a degree and be a kid just like I was.

But if folks are all out for themselves and getting paid, then give them that avenue and let them make a small salary like AAA / AA / A baseball players.
