His shot is too much like a slingshot. He leans back when he pulls the ball up and then flings it with his arms.
A few years ago at the Fathers and Sons basketball camp, the coaches said they are not going to try to fix anyone's shot. The muscle memory is so hard to overcome after doing the same shot for the past 10+ years. They said their goal is to help the players get consistent with their shot no matter how they shoot it. Trey has been shooting that way for a long time so that's how he's going to shoot for the rest of his life unless he decides to change it. He really needs to break defenders down off the dribble and score at the basket, since he's so athletic.
