I don't see it as a tall task to get to 9-4. TCU, Texas Tech, Iowa St., and Okie St. have all shown to be pretty average teams. WV is very winnable as well.
Everyone of those 5 teams is very much on par with Arkansas and Cincy.

Big difference in 70-90's is things won't come back to how they were. We ruled the LDS kid recruiting. Not sure...
