I think Pope has a soft spot for him because he needs BYU
And maybe that he might have a little bit more patience that he might otherwise have. Noah hasn't had an easy life and I think that he is thriving at BYU, gaining confidence in himself and getting skills that will change the trajectory of his life.

I had that impression when I was at Fathers and Sons a couple of weeks ago. He does have two things you can't coach length and the ability to shoot, but at this point its more potential than actual performance.

It might be easy for us to say that he is taking up a scholarship that could be used for someone else, but if you were in Mark Pope's shoes I don't think the decision is as clear. Yes, I understand that BYU is about to go into the most competitive conference in the country and you can't be a charity organization, but not everything is so black and white.
