For BYU specifically, Colorado is an OK - but not exciting addition
Denver is an easy flight or road trip for many BYU fans and there are a lot of BYU fans and alumni in the Front Range who have not had a local BYU game in over a decade....after decades of BYU football and basketball at CSU, Air Force, and Wyoming. Colorado would be a decent game on the football and basketball schedules...even if not overly exciting.

For the Big 12 as a conference, Colorado is a great addition. Denver is an attractive TV market and the only major market between BYU and Big 12 schools and fans in Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas. Plenty of Big 12 fans and alumni in the Denver area and plenty of Colorado fans in certain Big 12 markets.

Colorado can also provide solid game inventory options for ESPN and FOX, especially for the western side of the U.S and the late-night TV window. Strong Big 12 synergy among BYU-Arizona-Colorado.

Plus, there lots of exciting potential for the Big 12 brand to *add back* a school that left in previous realignment.

The fact that Coach Sanders seems to have sparked local and national interest in Colorado isn't a driving factor, but definitely further enhances the move.
