I agree that the players need to adjust and stop blocking low.
In this case he could have hit high with likely a better result on the block.
The refs determined it was a incomplete pass without going to video review (at least one of them saw it). They then proceed to explain that since the play was dead there was personal foul unnecessary roughness on BYU.
