We did part of that route in June as well.
You are 100% spot on about the Red Woods. There's something about those ancient trees that is part sacred, part awe inspiring and part humbling.
We drove right past the Trees of Mystery and didn't realize it. That looks like it would have been fun.
We actually extended our time on the Oregon coast because it was so relaxing for us.

For this summer's family vacation we did a big road trip to see some sights. Pulled an RV and had a great time.
