I keep hearing from family/friends and also read online about how common the nasty side effects are of the vaccine...
I then compare and contrast these anecdotes with the things I’ve seen/heard/read about most people’s experience with actual Covid and it’s staggering how the virus itself is far more forgiving than the vaccine appears to be.

*edit to clarify 1st paragraph* I’m referring you those who handled Covid well, I’m not going to argue deaths — I know Covid killed many. I’m trying to understand why the vaccine is superior to the antibodies which is a fair question.

I’m not anti-vaccine in any way. I have all the standard vaccines as do my children but I’m trying to understand why would I want to get a vaccine that will likely give me rough side effects when it seems more likely that if I were to get Covid it would be more of a mild cold/flu if anything at all?

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t the argument to help with herd immunity for those who are more vulnerable? If yes, help me understand how me getting Covid doesn’t help with herd immunity?
