To use an example in medicine...
Would I want to go to a program that only offers Internal Medicine (the basics or ‘undergrad’ of medicine) or do I want to go to a place that has Cardiology, Gastroenterology, etc etc and all the other IM fellowships and subspecialties, especially knowing that if I do well in their general ‘undergrad’ programs it gives me a heads up in matching into the highly coveted and competitive specialities? Yeah no brainer. Undergrad doesn’t really matter too much.
