rather than the problem itself. In other words, I don’t think a guy sends that kind of message without being angry and struggling through something somewhere else in his life.
So I’d consider releasing him if that is what he needed to help get things right in his life.
I’d be less inclined to release him as some kind of penalty or to appease parents who are uncomfortable. The parents should use this as a teaching moment for their kids, and that includes teaching them that callings aren’t just for perfect people and that they shouldn’t throw someone to the curb over one horrible incident (if that’s all this is).
