The first play on 3rd and 1, Zayne is covering for blitzing linebackers and he needs to be able to cover both the h back on one side and the slot on the other so he fell off. Warner could be up a little but on the 25 the last thing you want to give up is an easy home run. To prevent the slot from getting the 1st you have 2 chances, Pili getting a pd or 32 getting off his block from the corner, neither happened so they converted a 3rd and 1, not a big deal.
The 3rd and 3 at the end. 2 guys were in great position to make that play but they both lost their 1 on 1 ones, you mentioned Butch, but Zayne needed to shed his block and make the play. The safeties being 11(not 15) yards off the ball still allows them to make a play behind the los if they read it right because they're able to attack downhill rather than laterally. I'm not sure I could find clip of a team with all 11 defenders being no more 5 yards off the ball in that scenario, I will pay attention to some other games as I watch to see if any other coach plays it like you're suggesting because I could be wrong
