o BYU learns from last week and doesn’t come out sluggish in this game against a pesky SJSU team (again coming off a bye week!). In what might be their most complete game all season over an over-matched opponent, BYU absolutely demolishes the Spartans.
o It’s homecoming so BYU is in their royal uniforms…almost no navy this year! What a blessing! ☺
o The game started out with a bang when, for the first time in nearly a decade, BYU returns a kick-off for a TD, this time on the opening kick. (Burt) Then, after forcing a three and out, Tanner methodically drives the Cougars down and hits Shumway across the middle for a 12 yard scamper into the end zone.
o BYU never lays off the throttle, racking up an insane 63 points by the start of the 4th quarter, when Hoge comes in. BYU 63 – SJSU 0
