It was the police/security who removed him from the plane. They had the right to
Use force to remove him after her repeatedly refused to leave the plane. He had no right not to leave. They used a reasonable amount of force to remove him. There was nothing they did that would constitute excessive force in any sense of the word. They Dr.'s resisting is what caused him to hit his lip on the arm rest.
