I've recently sold several of my positions that I've been holding for a while, so I've got some extra investing cash on hand. I have an auto-investing plan set up for some diversified mutual funds (I'm all about dollar cost averaging), but I also like to make smaller investments in more concentrated areas/stocks.
The stock market is at an all-time high right now, driven in part by optimism surrounding expectations for Trump to reduce corporate taxes and reform the tax plan. I feel the market is pretty optimistic at what the Trump administration can get done and how fast they'll do it. I see some downside risk at the current valuation (they're a bit expensive IMO), so I'm hesitant to dump money into an S&P500 index at this point (though I've got cash on hand to invest if the market does start to dip).
What are you guys investing in? Thoughts on the overall direction of the market?
