You seem to have forgotten Bronco Mendenhall getting $3.25M from
Virginia. Imagine what he would have gotten if he was an elite coach.
Quite frankly, I am glad that generally speaking, BYU has not been a stepping stone program.
If LaVell Edwards did not love BYU and Provo, he would have left in 1985 or sooner for big bucks. That is the BYU model. Take a big risk. Hope it works out once in a while. Realize that some will not work out. Hope that when one gets hot, that they are not swayed by money. The money will always come.
